Thursday 13th October 2022

Digital Telecoms Network Academy was established in 2000 to provide specialist training in telecommunications.   It offers a comprehensive learning experience for the Telecommunications Industry, with blended practical training to enhance or embrace new skills appropriate to the ongoing Digital Development needed for the Smart City Infrastructure.

DTN is working with the Digital Skills Group as part of the Digital Policy Alliance (DPA), servicing the industry to address the employment gaps and skills shortages nationwide.

The Academy delivers a range of nationally recognised qualifications for Telecommunications and Construction with specialist training for employers developing the digital networks required for Smart Cities and the Urban Landscape.   Additionally, DTN is the main provider in the country delivering Telecoms Apprentices at level 2/3 and is part of the working party developing new standards for the industry, in an ever-expanding area.   Quality processes are of a high standard, as expected of an Ofsted Grade 2 provider.  DTN also has quality kitemarks for Matrix Accreditation, Investors in People and ISO 9001 – 2015 with a mission to become the leading telecoms training provider both regionally and nationally.

The Academy features fully equipped and up to date technology, backed with the latest equipment used by industry. This provides the most realistic hands on experience for learners, both internal and external.   DTN also boasts a 3.2 km test and training network with air blown fibre and conventional cables. This comes complete with simulated faults which are added to enhance the learner’s experience and further their skills development.

DTN works with a range of employers who support them in the design of courses to ensure they are credible and fit for purpose. As a result, the Academy enjoys an excellent track record of equipping people with the skills required by the industry and in transitioning them into sustainable employment.
